In English Ash the youngest timber is always light in colour but as the tree ages the heartwood often takes on a lovely golden hue known as ‘Olive’. Such was the size of this tree from the Longleat Estate, the components for this very simply designed cabinet could be cut from half the width of the board, highlighting the beautiful variations in the grain.
