Fitted furniture should be just as well made as free-standing pieces and it doesn't get any more bespoke than this.
Eve's Study

Eve's Study

Eve was in the process of converting the old dining room into a study and wanted wall to wall shelves built floor to ceiling along one side. The wall happened to contain the old serving hatch which was to remain and so we decided to put the cupboard she required underneath that and to replace the hatch doors so that they would match the new cupboard doors below.

The shelves are made from solid English oak and curve in at one end to accommodate an existing window frame. The lower shelves are deeper to ensure that the cupboard was a useful size and the shelf heights vary to allow for efficient storage of a variety of books, files and objet d’art.

Malvern Library Cafe Bar

Malvern Library Cafe Bar

Malvern Library’s café has been reborn as Bloem in the Library under the management of Lisa who wanted to increase the amount of available seating whilst also making the area more welcoming. She requested a long bar to run along an otherwise bare wall and had already ordered tall, bleached oak stools to go with it.

I designed this simple bar to fit in with the existing style of the library and made it in English Oak as befits such a fine old building. I bleached the oak to match the colour of the stools and after installation was pleased to hear a member of the Library staff say that it looked as if it had always been there.

Ruth and Craig's Kitchen

Ruth and Craig's Kitchen

Ruth and Craig have a lovely Edwardian house in Edgbaston, Birmingham and were in the middle of renovating their kitchen when they contacted me. They knew exactly what they wanted but were struggling to find a bespoke kitchen company that could build them a kitchen in their time-frame or to their budget. Working with my workshop colleague Gavin Davidge, also a fine furniture maker, we designed, built and installed their kitchen in less than three months.

The cabinets were built simply and solidly in 18mm birch ply which was sanded and oiled inside the cupboards to very pleasant effect. The frame and panel doors and all external parts were painted and the oiled solid beech counters finished the job off beautifully.

“We are absolutely delighted with the cabinets and surface you installed for us in our kitchen. The whole process from design, through to construction and installation was very professional and efficient.

We are particularly pleased with how well everything functions and the attention to detail and finish is immaculate. The whole thing is a pleasure to use and to look at”. - Ruth Spencer
